Welcome back!
I hope everyone had a restful and safe spring break. My son had his tonsils and adenoids out, so we had a very low key break. I can't wait to see every one's faces tomorrow and hear all about their break.
MAP
We will be spending some time reviewing this week in preparation for next week's MAP test. A letter went home before spring break requesting donations for our MAP snack trail mix. If you could please send in your item by the end of the week that would be great. Thank you in advance for providing a snack. Just a reminder that we will test Communication Arts April 3-5 and Math is April 10-12. Please have your child arrive to school on time as we will begin testing first thing in the morning. I encourage each child to get a good night's sleep and eat a good breakfast that morning.
REWARD PARTY
The class earned another reward party for making good choices as a class and doing well on our monthly Tungsten tests. The students have voted to eat lunch in the classroom and wanted to bring a soda. We will have our reward party this Tuesday, March 27th. Feel free to send a soda with your child to school on Tuesday. They will not be allowed to purchase one at school.
THANK YOU
Thanks to everyone who donated items to our ice cream party. The children really enjoyed themselves and stuffed their little bellies. Please encourage your child to continue to practice the multiplication facts to help retain mastery.
CONFERENCES
This Thursday evening are our spring conferences. If we have a scheduled time, I look forward to seeing you Thursday.
MATH TEST
As we are reviewing these next couple of weeks before the MAP Math test, we are also continuing to work in our math book. This week we are beginning our study of probability. I do not want to test the children on the same day as a MAP test, so we will have our next math quiz on Monday, April 2nd. I usually do not like to give tests on Mondays, but we will not be ready by this Friday, and I do not want to give it on Tuesday since they are taking the MAP that morning. Thank you for understanding.

Multiplication is Deliciously Easy
We are going to celebrate mastering our multiplication facts with an ice cream party. We are also going to celebrate all the hard work the students have done in preparing for the upcoming MAP test. Our ice cream party will take place on March 15th in the afternoon. Some students volunteered to bring in an item for our celebration. We didn't need everyone to bring in something, so don't worry if your child did not bring home a note for an item. Please check your child's folder tonight to see if your child volunteered. If your child volunteered and you are not able to bring in that item, it is no problem. Just let me know, and I can ask someone else to bring in the item. I would love all the ice cream items turned in to school by Tuesday, March 13th. If you have any questions, please let me know. Congratulate your child on a job well done!
