Friday is Concord Spirit Wear Day. Show off your Concord spirit by wearing that Concord gear!
Read Across America
Friday, March 2nd is Read Across America in honor of Dr. Seuss' birthday. We will participate in this Read Across America day. Your child can bring in their favorite Dr. Seuss book on Friday. We will have a chance to read these books and do an activity with them.

Math Quiz (Chapter 20 congruence and symmetry) - Tuesday, Feb.28th
This week's MAP words:
sequence - the following of one thing after another (put events in the story in order)
value - how much a digit in a certain place in a number is worth
Last week your child brought home a MAP released item from a previous year's MAP test. Please review this with your child. We will do more of these from now until spring break to help the children become familiar with the format of the test and how questions are worded. Please look for these in your child's folder.

Math and Social Studies
Our math test over the metric system (chapter 18) is Tuesday, Feb. 7th. Our next unit of study will cover geometry. Please continue to have your child practice the multiplication facts each night.
To wrap our unit of study of economics, the students are creating their own business. They will create a commercial and a print advertisement for their business. Please ask your child to share with you what their business is all about.

Important Dates
- Jump Rope for Heart is Friday, Feb. 10th. Third graders will jump from 1:50-2:50. Please return all Jump Rope for Heart money by Friday.
- Valentine's Day parties are Feb. 14th from 2:00-3:00. If the students would like to make valentines, a class list went home a few weeks ago. We will make a basket for our valentines in class.
- PRISM projects due by Feb 17th preferably, but the 21st at the latest.
- PRISM night is Thursday, Feb. 23rd
- No school on Monday, Feb. 20th
- Spring Pictures are Feb. 21st
- Donuts with Dad on Friday, March 9th from 7:45-8:15 (a note regarding this before school event will go home soon)
